The Houston Synergy Project is a collaborative project between the residents of Houston and myself. Beginning at the Leonel Castillo Community Center in April 2015, art workshops were held monthly and participants made art as a gift for a stranger.

Using supplies provided, members of the community made a unique gift for the members of another location connected with the Baker Ripley Center. The cycle continued between centers until it came full circle when the initial community received the art created by the final location.

The Residents were able to display their art through social media in the form of hash tags, #houstonsynergyproject and #housynergy. I was the facilitator, involving the public in the fine art community, creating an experience that may not have been available to them before while connecting them with their fellow neighbor.
