Student Work

The mark of a good instructor is not to have great answers but to ask great questions. Beyond striving to ensure that students learn the fundamental content of the courses I teach, my objectives as a fine art teacher are as follows: foster critical thinking skills; facilitate the acquisition of lifelong learning skills; help students develop problem-solving strategies; and to prepare students to function as highly skilled artists using photography and Adobe Photoshop CC. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.

Sharing my enthusiasm for making with my students, I strive to create a positive environment that encourages experimentation and playfulness. Furthermore, my overall teaching philosophy is based on teaching skill sets that allow my students to obtain a strong foundation and develop methods for unique project solving, allowing them to not only complete assignments but in doing so create work they are proud of.
